The Avenue des Champs-Élysées is the most avenue in France and probably in the world, several monuments are on the aveue, including the Arc de Triomphe and the Place de la Concorde. According to a much used description, the Champs-Élysées is l"the most beautiful avenue in the world". The regular architecture of the Champs-Élysées is typical of the Haussmann boulevard architecture. The Avenue is located right next to the the Grand Palais and Petit Palais, erected in the late XIXth century. The Avenue is also one of the most famous streets in the world for upscale shopping. Adidas, Abercombie & Fitch, the Disney Store, Nespresso, Nike, Zara, H&M, Cartier, Mercedes, Toyota, Gap, and Sephora occupy major spaces. The new year's eve gathering, the 14th of July military parade as well as the arrival of the Tour de France cycling race in July are some of the events that regularly animate the avenue.
