Christmas Village Magic on the Champs-Elysées

Every year, the Champs-Elysées Christmas market attracts both residents and visitors of Paris, who crowd the sidewalks lined with beautiful winter chalets. Visitors will find not only chalets with merchants selling various treats and gifts, they will also find a number of fun activities for children and adults.

Guests staying at one of the Sister Hotels Champs-Elysées can enjoy the Christmas market located right near their rooms from now until January 5, 2014. The event brings roughly 180 wooden chalets, installed up and down the famous avenue. This year, the huts will be decorated even more beautifully than usual as a prize for the most beautifully decorated chalet will be handed out when the market closes in January.

Those who visit the Christmas village will be able to taste traditional waffles, crepes, mulled wine and other French sweets. Unique items can also be purchased from the many artisans who come from all around France to participate in this market.

That way, visitors can interact with the artists and creators themselves who present wares made of glass, leather, wool enamel and metal. Gifts such as Christmas ornaments and slippers make for great stocking stuffers no matter what you will be celebrating Christmas.

Children also have plenty to keep them busy at the Champs-Elysées Christmas Village. Up until Christmas Eve, Santa will make an appearance every evening, and there are pony rides for the little ones. Plus, an impressively large ice skating rink and the giant Ferris wheel, La Grande Roue, provide entertainment for all ages. Smaller kids' rides will also be on the scene, making this the perfect event for the whole family.
