Degas, Danse, Dessin. A Tribute to Degas with Paul Valéry

Being one of the most renowned artists who significantly contributed in shaping the history of art in France, Edgar Degas (1834-1917) is honored, until February 25^th, 2018, at Musée d’Orsay, on the occasion of the centenary of his death.

An exhibition showcasing some of his artworks and calling attention to the essay written by his friend, Paul Valéry (1871-1945), 20 years after his death, has been put on view since November 28^th, 2017, offering the viewers a special opportunity to compare numerous parts from the essay with the artist’s diverse works.

Rare documents, drawings, notebooks, and many other pieces will be brought together to provide a clearer image of Degas’ personality and art as well as of his friendship with Valéry.
