    Reimann’s Lear at Palais Garnier

    Palais Garnier, the leading Parisian opera house, welcomes you from May 20th to June 12th, 2016, and invites you to enjoy the new show of Aribert Reimann’s amazing opera, Lear.

    Based on King Lear, the great tragedy written by William Shakespear in 1606, Lear, the opera, was written by the renowned librettist, Claus H. Henneberg in German language. It was first performed on July 9th, 1978 at the National Theatre Munich and still remains part of the standard repertoire until today.

    The Palais Garnier’s show of Reimann’s Lear will be conducted by the celebrated conductor Fabio Luisi. It will gather as well the renowned opera director Calixto Bieito and a selection of the most sought after operatic singers.

    Lear is divided into two parts. It has an approximate run time of 3 hours and including one break.
